New Dendrimers for Gene Therapy

Project Overview

For my MChem, I worked alongside Simon Jones in the development of a new biocompatible dendritic system which has potential applications in gene therapy. I stayed on to study for a PhD in the research group, where I am investigating the synthesis and biological activity of a range of novel dendritic peptides. This will develop my skills in organic synthesis, as well as allowing me to learn new techniuques in the development of biological assays. The dendrons I am synthesising have potential applications in cancer chemotherapy.
