Project Overview

In this project, Reetta (Erasmus Student – Helsinki) developed some new peptide derived sensors for anionic guests which showed strong fluorescent responses to a variety of different anions. The project involved significant amounts of organic synthesis – including the synthesis of some challenging macrocyclic structures. In addition, Reetta developed experience in the investigation of host-guest binding processes using UV-Vis and fluorescence methods. A publication describing some of Reetta’s results is in preparation.
