34. Provides possibility for unstructured communication which is not
monitored
1.) In an egalitarian group, non-ability to exchange views and opinions
subtly, inability to discuss issues not foreseen by designers (e.g. non-task
personal issues).
2.) In a forced distributed work situation (e.g. telework as replacement
office based jobs: inability to share experiences (about work and / or employment
or personal situations). No access to channel for discussing shared problems
with the job situation.
Example(s): Unmonitored audio or free-text channel (seems obvious but seen
as inseparable part of the groupware system, not necessarily technically
integrated, though maybe that's nicer).
