47. Awareness of self perception (different from Steve's note of awareness.)
Not that we need to know about actions of others but need to know how self
is received / perceived or how product of one's actions perceived. Various
video conferencing scenarios: not knowing how one appears to the remote
person? How loud am I? How am I being received? Am I on screen? Voice switched
video systems are particularly bad. If the current speaker is full screen
when I speak, who do I see, and how do I know that I'm being looked at?
Another [example is] web pages - how do you know how they will appear to
a remote user? Medium is dynamic, so appearance depends on Web browser.
Difficult to know how to design them.
