Perception

It is predicted that the time taken to detect a long wavelength light will be less than that taken to detect a short wavelength light. Accordingly, evoked potentials to red (long wavelength) and blue (short wavelength) lights of equal brightness are measured. Subjects are given a long random sequence of red and blue light stimuli and the mean latency of the evoked response is computed separately for the red and the blue stimuli.
