Experiment 22

Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed-ranks test
Applied Psychology

Attitudes to computers are measured before and after a short programming course. The attitude scale used gives a score between 0 and 20, where 0 indicates a highly unfavourable attitude to computers and a score of 20 a highly favourable one. Previous research indicates that scores should increase with experience of computers. (The scale used yields a distribution of scores which is severely skewed towards the higher end.)
