Two calculators differ in the way in which their keys are laid out. Calculator A is expected to be most effective for simple addition. 100 addition tasks are devised and given to two groups of ten participants each. One group performs all of the additions with Calculator A and the other all of the additions with Calculator B. The time it takes each of the twenty participants to perform the addition tasks is noted.
