Experiment 26

Between-subjects t-test
Mann-Whitney U
Cognition

Thirty-eight patients having surgery for a particular kind of brain tumour are assessed with a short-term memory test yielding a score between 0 and 130. Nineteen of the patients are operated on with a procedure that involves disturbing the frontal lobes, the other 19 by a procedure that does not. The former procedure is expected to have a larger effect on short-term memory.
