The University administration wishes to determine whether there are differences in telephone usage according to department. Six members of staff are randomly sampled from each of the following departments: the Registrar's Department, Computer Science, English, History, Physics and Psychology. The telephone calls made by these members of staff are monitored over a three-month period and the cost to the University (for each staff member) computed.
