Nanomaterials

 

Nanomaterials are interesting because their very small sizes means that surface effects, quantum confinement effect etc. are the dominant factors.  Great progress has been made in their synthesis as well as discovering of many interesting and unexpected physical properties.  Again, characterization of these materials remains a challenges and this impedes a fuller understanding of the structure-property relationship of these fascinating materials.  We have being working on a three dimensional understanding of the structures of the nanomaterials with the hope of gaining insights into the atomistic origin for the physical properties of these remarkable materials.
