Question 7: Do you think the square root transformed data meet the conditions for a paired t test? Are they closer than are the raw data?

Suggested answer

The square root transformation meets the asumptions for a paired t test more closely than do the raw data. However, the fit to the Normal distribution is not perfect and there is still some relationship between difference and average.

The paired t test is more appropriate for the square root transformed data than it is for the raw data.
