Graph description: Scatter plot of residuals

This is a scatter plot of residuals against height.

A graph with the horizontal axis labelled “Height (mm)” and numbered 1400, 1500, 1600, 1700, 1800, 1900. The vertical axis is labelled “Residual (mm)” and numbered -40, -20, 0, 20, 40, 60. Each student’s height and residual is shown as a point, represented by a little hollow diamond shape. The points form a roughly oval cloud with the highest density of points in the middle. When height is 1500 mm, residuals range from about -20 to +30 mm. When height is 1650 mm, residuals range from about -40 to +40 mm. When height is 1800 mm, residuals range from about -30 to +300 mm.

There is nothing to suggest that residual is related to height.
