This now contains 1312 references on archaeology, botany, fisheries, geography, history, marine biology, natural history and zoology relating to the Arabian Gulf region. April 2000 In early April I attended the 2nd Arab Conference and Exhibition on Environmental Biotechnology - The Coastal Habitats (Arab Envirotec 2), which will be held in Abu Dhabi from April 8-11, 2000. The conference was organised by the Emirates Heritage Club, part of the Commission of Environmental Research. I presented a paper entitled: "Fishing through time: Using archaeological fish remains to reconstruct ancient fishing practices and coastal habitats in the Arabian Gulf". To read an abstract, click here. 24 May 2000 Relaunched my collection of weblinks, EAL (Environmental Archaeology Links) on the new updated website of the Association for Environmental Archaeology (AEA). 8 June 2000 Added pictures of ray pavement teeth. Can you identify my mystery specimens?? 17-19 July 2000 I took part in the confernce Historic Oman: Cultures, Contacts, Environment Conference, sponsored by the Anglo-Omani Society and organised at The British Museum (Department of Western Asiatic Antiquities). To find out about their proceedings, click here. 24 July 2000 I attended the day conference on "The Archaeology of Bahrain: The British Contribution", held at The Brunei Building, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London. This was a special day seminar held in conjunction with the exhibition in the Brunei Gallery, Traces of Paradise - The Archaeology of Bahrain 2500BC - 300AD 5 October 2000 Added new information page about the Abu Dhabi Islands Archaeological Survey (ADIAS) including a list of all its publications. 1 November 2000 Added new publication to my list of publications - this is a preliminary report on the faunal remains from the Ubaid settlement on Dalma Island, United Arab Emirates. I presented this paper at the fourth International Conference of ICAZ Working Group - ASWA (Archaeozoology of South West Asia and Adjacent Areas), held at the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris, July 1998.
