This included a visit to the Queen of Sheba: Treasures of Ancient Yemen exhibition at the British Museum. 23-28 August 2002 I was a co-organiser, together with Caroline Cartwright (Department of Scientific Research, British Museum), of a session entitled "Coastal adaptations in arid environments" at the 9th Conference of the International Council of Archaeozoology (ICAZ) to be held at the University of Durham, UK. For details of the paper I presented at the conference please click here. 15-17 September 2002 I spoke at the International Date Palm Forum, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The conference was organised by the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, on behalf of the Minister of Information and Culture. Further details of the paper I presented can be viewed by clicking here. 1 October 2002 I took up a new post as Senior Resident Archaeologist for the Abu Dhabi Islands Archaeological Survey (ADIAS), based in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
