Post A-Level German students: Please refer to the departmental website and the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) to check your groups and timetables. There you will also find your self-study material, including videos, class announcements etc. Many videos can also be watched in the E-Lab. On the Teaching pages you can find a number of links to exercises and further material for self-study. Please let me know if you have questions. The German Society page (including information on the Babylon Project) (and the Facebook group) will be updated shortly and a VLE platform will be made accessible at the start of term. Hello everyone,

as promised, I have finally stopped doodling (or is it drooling, I can never remember ?) and put together a "proper" website that leads you to all the other less important ones :) including the websites with links to self-study material for my students.

Please don't expect a blog on this, I think I have more important things to do ;) but if something comes up, such as travels abroad which might lead me close to your current place of residence, I will put this on this site and hope you'll welcome me with open arms !!! Obviously, I'll contact you personally beforehand, oh, and I'll expect you to warn me well in advance if you're planning to visit, (sagt sie, belehrend mit erhobenem Zeigefinger).

But back to the task at hand. The most important info for my students will be the teaching sites, so I expect you to do your homework first (!) and then you can spend your precious spare time browsing through the other sites.

Apropos the other sites, I will add more links and information to the sites whenever I have the time, but if someone shares an interest, or knows of a wonderful website which has for some reason not found its way into my bookmarks bar, please let me know and I'll be forever grateful.

If you just can't be bothered clicking through the pages you can find direct links to the teaching sites and some of my other websites below.

PS: Just a quick explanation for those who are wondering why I decided to put a baby picture on this site, well, for one it is the last good picture of me, every picture taken afterwards is terrible, I am not very photogenic and much better in person, at least I really hope so, ;). And secondly, I believe my students could all explain very well that I am a bit paranoid about "Vater Staat" or rather "Big Brother" or any other member of that family. I am convinced that if a "real' photo of me with my name is available on the internet, BB can run facial recognition software on it and with all the CCTV cameras on campus (we are caught every 3-5 seconds on camera when on campus, and after all Big Brother IS British), well with all that footage they can pinpoint my exact whereabouts at any given time, and I am too German and value my privacy too much to let them do that. Sounds paranoid, I know. ... and I am sure they have other means anyway, but this is my tiny bit of personal rebellion ... and I can just see you smirking at me there! Stop it!
