In 2002 the York SPG upgraded there SEM. The new SEM offers 1.5 nm spatial resolution in UHR mode. It is also equipped with an Oxford Instruments INCA EDS x-ray analysis system for identification of elemental species. To further enhance the SEM's usefullness it also has e-beam lithography capable of creating features as small as 4 nm. The SEM is differentially pumped making sample transfer a quick and simple process. The SEM is available for commercial use. Please contact Dr S.P. Tear for further details.
