University Chamber Choir


Chamber Choir numbers 20-45 voices according to the repertoire to be performed. Membership is by audition, usually held at the beginning of the Autumn Term of each academic year. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday afternoons (2.00-4.00pm in E058) and the choir usually gives three concerts in each academic year. Members of Chamber Choir are also members of University Choir.

The first (at 7.30pm) of two concerts exploring Purcell’s sacred and secular repertoire with string anthems and the welcome ode Welcome! vicegerent of the mighty King


The second concert (at 9.00pm) features Réjouissance and Lynne Dawson (soprano) in a programme of sacred songs and trio sonatas by Purcell and John Blow.
