Research

I have worked on the phonetics and phonology of a number of languages, but mainly English and Finnish. I have also worked on speech synthesis (YorkTalk and ProSynth), declarative phonology and Firthian Prosodic Analysis.

My current research includes:

  1. The phonetics of talk-in-interaction

  1. Affiliation and disaffiliation in language
