Travel to the University of York is not complicated as York is served by a good network of road and rail services. Unless you choose to travel by car, you are recommended to travel to York by train.

Travelling to York by train
Details on travel between the University campus and train station are given below. Trains from London's King's Cross station to York take approximately 2 hours. The cheapest tickets are those booked in advance and for specific trains only; please note that tickets booked over the internet or telephone require a credit/debit card. The cost of travelling between London and York varies depending on the day and time of day: travelling between 06.30 and 08.30 is the most expensive time. When you get to York station
You can travel to the campus by the number 4 bus -- it's a double length "ftr" purple bus -- which takes about 20 minutes and costs £1.50p. Note that the ticket machine on the bus takes exact change only. The bus stop is just in front of the station.
You can also travel by taxi which takes about 10 minutes and costs about £6.00. You should ask the taxi driver to take you to "Alcuin College".
Travelling to York by car
The University's postcode is YO10 5DD, which can be used to locate the University on, say, Google maps. In order to locate Alcuin College, use the meeting map or one of these University campus maps.
