What Do We Do?

The Atmospheric Chemistry Group is based in the Chemistry Department at the University of York. Our research is focused on gas and aerosol phase chemistry in the atmosphere both in urban and remote environments. The species we measure include ozone, carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), halocarbons, hydrocarbons and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Measurements are often made during short field work campaigns either at ground level or on one of the UK research aircraft. We also make long term measurements at an atmospheric observatory in Cape Verde details of which can be found here.
