Dave is a perfect example of those who have greatness thrust upon them, if by 'greatness' you mean 'positions of responsibility'. He is naturally rather socially awkward, but attempts to make up for it with enthusiasm and sometimes misguided attempts at humour.

He is, much to his mother's confusion, a LARPer and has even been known to dabble in tabletop RPGs and boardgaming. In between SF&F events, he studies Linguistics, which, regrettably, makes him a filthy Arts student. He is therefore suitably proficient in the phrase 'Do you want fries with that?'.
