Fencing sessions are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Tuesday and Thursday sessions take place in the tent and Saturday sessions take place in the dance studio (both in the university sports centre). In some circumstances, additional sessions may be organised or session times may be altered. Club members will be notified of any change or additional sessions via email.

Tuesdays 8pm-10pm
Tuesday sessions from October to December are usually given over to teaching the new intake of beginners from amongst the freshers (and those of other years who have decided to try something new), although experienced fencers often come along and find space to fight and train amongst themselves. For the rest of the year, these sessions are open to everybody. It is on these days that our team coach, Dave Jerry, is present giving lessons to anybody who wants them. Tuesday sessions are usually followed by a drink or two.
Thursdays 8pm-10pm
Thursday sessions are open to experienced fencers, or those who have completed our beginners course. In these sessions we normally have all the electric scoring apparatus out. Thursday sessions are usually followed by a drink or two.
Saturdays 11am-1pm
Like Thursdays, Saturday sessions are open to experienced fencers, or those who have completed our beginners course. The electric scoring apparatus is normally out and members are free to train or fight amongst themselves as they wish. If there is enough demand, Saturday sessions may be followed by a drink or lunch at the Charles XII in Heslington.
Please note that this club operates a strict policy regarding protective clothing. In particular, 350N breeches must be worn for all weapons other than non-electric foil, including during lessons or whilst coaching. For more details contact the club armourer.
