Equipment
The
University is in the process of developing an exciting new astrocampus
on the site of the existing observatory. Please contact the physics
department for further up to date information.
The Observatory
Built in
1992 by the University of York's physics department. Inside is a 14"
Meade Schmidt-Cassigrain Reflector. The telescope's is computer
controled and is able to view many thousands of objects.
If you wish to use this telescope please contact the Physics department
directly (or talk to the committee), as you must be trained and signed off as compitent by them to
use it.

Our
Telescope
The society owns an 8" Celestron NexStar refletor telescope fro the use
of members. This telescope has a GOTO controler containing 14000
objects for you to enjoy. A range of eyepieces and filters are available to view objects under different magnifications.
If you wish to become compitent in using the telescope and use it when
you want please contact us to arange a training session at
