NUA Details

Hello everybody! Here it is, the final details for the NUA weekend, held this year in York from 20th-22nd November!

Friday evening: Ringing, Eating (at the hall) and a Local Pub

The hall is English Martyrs Hall, Dalton Terrace, York, YO24 4DA. It will be open from 8pm for food and drinks. You will be able to dump luggage in the hall before 8pm on the Friday by arrangement but Spurriergate church also has ample space to leave bags whilst ringing.

After food, there'll be drinking and socialising at The Windmill Inn, 14-16 Blossom Street, York, YO24 1AJ, which is only a 5 minute walk from the hall.

Saturday: Tower Grab, Striking Competition, Food, Ceilidh and Boat Race

There are plenty of places in York city centre to grab a bite for lunch.

The striking competition will take place at St Olave's from 2pm onwards. Please let us know if you wish to enter a band by the Friday evening. The draw will also take place that evening. The competition results will be posted here in the next couple of weeks.

Dinner will be served back at the hall and after the striking competition results, there'll be a live ceilidh band and the boat race! Beer will be from Roosters Brewery in Harrogate and will be £1 per pint or less!

Sunday: Morning Ringing, Wetherspoons and the Minster

We will then regroup at Wetherspoons, Postern Gate, YO1 9NX from 11am.

There will be ringing at the Minster on the Sunday afternoon from 2.15pm to 3.55pm. Everyone is very welcome and for those who can confidently handle a 10cwt bell in rounds there will be the opportunity to have a ring. As we will have quite a few people to get through we would appreciate a prompt start and please bear with us if you only get a short ring. There will also be a chance to view the bells, including Great Peter, for those interested.

General:

Finally, please let us know numbers of those attending by Friday 13th November. Everyone is extremely welcome even if you're not from the north!

If you've managed to read this far then we hope you're now as excited about the NUA as we are! You can get in touch with any of us through facebook or e-mail us at admin@ycg.org.uk.

We look forward to hearing from you!
