This is the course guidebook that accompanies the 12 lecture “Great Course” of the same name. It is essentially an abbreviated transcript of each lecture, a few pictures, and some related reading. (I watched the lectures, which is what I am reviewing here, and am using the book simply as an aide-memoire.)
This marvellous course explores the very early universe, what happened in the first few moments, and then continues on with the major features of cosmological evolution: particles, radiation, atoms, stars, galaxies. Inflation is given a lot of prominence, and towards the end Felder dives into different speculations, including other universes, and other dimensions.
Truly mind-expanding.
