Stefan Bornholdt, Heinz Georg Schuster, eds.
Handbook of Graphs and Networks: from the genome to the internet.
Wiley-VCH. 2003

This book defines the field of complex interacting networks in its infancy and presents the dynamics of networks and their structure as a key concept across disciplines. The contributions present common underlying principles of network dynamics and their theoretical description and are of interest to specialists as well as to the non-specialized reader looking for an introduction to this new exciting field.

Theoretical concepts include modeling networks as dynamical systems with numerical methods and new graph theoretical approaches, but also focus on networks that change their topology as in morphogenesis and self-organization. The authors offer concepts to model network structures and dynamics, focussing on approaches applicable across disciplines.

Heinz Georg Schuster.
Reviews of Nonlinear Dynamics and Complexity, vol 1.
Wiley-VCH. 2008

Nonlinear behaviour is ubiquitous in nature and the interdisciplinary field of Nonlinear Dynamics and Complexity consists of a large body of theoretical and experimental work with many applications. It is the aim of these new series to provide Reviews of Nonlinear Dynamics and Complexity where researchers or newcomers to the field can find the most important up to date results, described in a fashion which breaks the barriers between the disciplines. Volume I covers the following topics:

• Nonlinear Dynamics of Nanomechanical and Micromechanical Resonators
• Delay Stabilization of Rotating Waves Without Odd Number Limitation
•Random Boolean Networks
•Return Intervals and Extreme Events in Persistent Time Series with Applications to Climate and Seismic Records
•Factorizable Language: From Dynamics to Biology
•Controlling Collective Synchrony by Feedback

Reviews of Nonlinear Dynamics and Complexity, vol 3.
Wiley-VCH. 2010

Nonlinear behaviour is ubiquitous in nature and ranges from fluid dynamics, via neural and cell dynamics to the dynamics of financial markets. The most prominent feature of nonlinear systems is that small external disturbances can induce large changes in their behaviour. This can and has been used for effective feedback control in many systems, from Lasers to chemical reactions and the control of nerve cells and heartbeats. Nonlinear effects appear on the macroscale as well as on the nanoscale. Volume 3 has the following topics:

•The Chaos Computing Paradigm
•How Does God Play Dice?
•Phase Reduction of Stochastic Limit-Cycle Oscillators
•Complex Systems, numbers and Number Theory
•Wave Localization Transitions in Complex Systems
•From Deterministic Chaos to Anomalous Diffusion
