Season 6 is rather dark, but has a great arc -- of Buffy's return to humanity, of Willow's descent into addiction and darkness, of Spike's new-found feelings. The geek trio plotline starts out as a bit of a joke, but its descent into evil and tragedy builds well. There's even a musical episode, which could so easily have been dreadful, but is actually one of the best in the season, and is pivotal to the plot, too. (Amber Benson has a wonderful singing voice!) And there's a stunning finale. Death, tragedy, redemption: definitely not your light and fluffy brainless teen show. But still with some great comic moments. Roll on season 7... |
