The sixth season tries to cram in several arcs: what is Chris up to, Paige's relationship with Richard, Phoebe's relationship with Jason, Piper's lack of relationship with Leo, the revelation of Chris' identity, the battle to save Wyatt, ..., which adds a certain tension, although in a slightly confused and rushed manner. There are some quite dark moments, but most of the moral dilemmas are relatively easily solved, and the overall tone is still froth. However, the darkness does save this season from wallowing in the saccharine sweetness that baby Wyatt introduced in the last season -- let's hope the latest baby won't make the next season revert to sugar! |
