49. Awareness

Two people are working together over a large workspace. They are currently working on different parts but doing related activities. If the pair is not able to keep aware of what the other is doing in the workspace, they may miss opportunities for moving to a more tightly couples collaboration or miss cues for further co-ordination.

Example(s): Miniatures of entire workspace showing where others are working and what they are doing. Audio cues to give audio awareness of consequences of others actions light-weight mechanism to afford equivalent of glances, peripheral vision, focusing of attention.
