History Lesson
In the beginning, there were Leeds Differential Geometry Days. They were the stuff of myths and legend ...
In October 2000 the Leeds Days expanded to become Yorkshire Differential Geometry Days, jointly organised by the Universities of Hull, Leeds and York. These arrangements continued until 2004.
From October 2004 they metamorphosed into Yorkshire Durham Geometry Days, with the University of Durham taking over from Hull.
YDGDs normally occur at a frequency of three meetings per academic year. Occasionally one may be displaced if a big geometry conference is organised at one of the three “nodes”; for example, in 2017 a LMS Workshop in Variational Methods in Submanifold Theory was held at York. Financial support is provided by the London Mathematical Society through a Scheme 3 grant, which is currently administered by the University of York.
An archive of all the YDGDs held at York may be accessed below.
