Question 4: What process is used to label the factors?
The factors are labelled by considering the variables which load highly on those factors, i.e. those which the factor predicts and which have substantial coefficients in the estimation of the factors. We look at which variables are related to the factor and decide what the factor means. This is a subjective matter of interpretation.
