The Department of Psychology has an established and well-equipped laboratory for research in auditory perception and speech. Facilities include one large and two small double-walled sound-attenuating enclosures, signal conditioning units (Tucker-Davis Technologies), calibration apparatus, and several fast PCs for experimental control and general laboratory use. Current research interests include auditory perceptual organisation, profile analysis, auditory selective attention, auditory processing deficits in dyslexia, and duplex perception of speech.
