Text files and editors: pico

For small files the pico editor can be useful. It is small and quick, and has a little list of commands at the bottom of the screen as a reminder. It has some annoying features, like refusing to work with long lines, and is not very powerful but can be handy on occasion. In particular it is the text editor used with the pine email client for writing and reading emails.
