Office Applications

In recent years an extremely useful suite of applications called OpenOffice has become available. This is available for free, and has much of the functionality of other office suites such as MS Office including a WYSIWYG word processor and spreadsheet, presentation and database software. You can use the command ooffice to start the launcher program, and from there you can select what kind of document you want.
