THE CHURCH'S YEAR
English Jacobean music by Tomkins, Weelkes, Gibbons and Jeffreys
The English Church under James 1 and Charles I was blessed with
composers of great individuality and inventiveness. Tomkins,
Weelkes and Gibbons maintain their place in the liturgy today, while the
works of Jeffreys open an unusual window on 17th-century spirituality.

Last season we performed two of Bach's rarely-heard Masses for the Lutheran
