The University of York Juggling Club

Booking us

Yes we can be booked for events, drop us an email (well ahead of time, as it takes ages to work out who's free and who wants to do what etc!)

Workshops

The workshops we can run depend mainly on who's available and the amount of equipment we have, obviously we can't do a diablo workshop for 25 people if we only have 5 diablo's and one person who is free! Currently we could run workshops for the following things:

  • Diablo: groups < 5
  • Juggling: 3 ball begginer(learning 3),intermediate(basic tricks),and advanced(hard tricks, mills etc). For groups < 20
  • Ballon animals: huge numbers of people!

Demonstrations/Background jugglers

If you want a sort of proper demonstration(ie like on a stage/arena), then you'll have to give lots of notice, as putting together something like that takes its time(and finding people that are willing to perform can be an issue!).

The easier option(for us) is to just turn up, find some space and do some juggling/etc throughout the event, this puts a lot less pressure on the jugglers, therefore more are likely to turn up.

Price List

Right - the basic situation is, you get what you pay for.

No money and nothing, gets you, well, you might get some volunteers who happen to have some time to kill and the urge to do something charitable, but there are no guarantees as to standard..

Free entry (to a paying event) gets you some freeloaders who will do some juggling, but make sure they enjoy the event too.

Free entry and free food (or beer!) will generally get some jugglers who will be happy because they are being fed, so will juggle more conspicuously and for a greater proportion of the time.

Now, if we're talking about money, well then you start to get value! Again, you get what you pay for. York is blessed with a range of talents from starving students who will mess about for a while for a tenner, to professionals who will put on a slick show for profesional rates. There are various people in between these two extremes.
