Rajat completed his M.Sc. (H.S) from Panjab University, Chandigarh (India) in 2017, carrying out his masters project "Magnetic responsive Nano composites: efficient catalysts for the activation of PMS for the remediation of organic pollutants in water" under the guidance of Dr. Sonal Singhal.
He started his Ph.D. in 2018, titled as "Functional magnetic nanoparticles for the theranostic applications" under the supervision of Dr. Victor Chechik. The project combines elements of Biology, Chemistry and Physics and investigates the potential of thermally responsive organic polymer coated superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) in controlled drug delivery for the in vivo applications. The main aim of the project is to investigate the use of functionalised SPIONs for therapeutic applications to develop a single system which can be used for both diagnostic as well as therapeutic purposes.
