Suggested answer to exercise: Locomotor milestones and babywalkers, 4

Question 4: Can we conclude that babywalkers delay development?

Suggested answer

No, we cannot. This is an observational study, not a controlled experiment. We can conclude that users of babywalkers have later development, but not that the babywalker is the cause.

The authors do not do this, they say "babywalkers are associated with delay". However, they go on to say "The use of babywalkers should be discouraged".
