Exercise: Head circumference and height, answer 10

Question 10: The P value is P < 0.0001. What is this testing? What can we conclude from it?

Suggested answer

This is testing the null hypothesis that, in the population sampled, female students mean head circumference in not linearly related to height, or that the slope of the line in the population is zero.

We can conclude that there is very good evidence that head circumference is related to height in this population.
