Exercise: Head circumference, sex, and height, answer 7

Question 7: What other assumptions are we making about the relationship between head circumference, height and sex?

Suggested answer

We assume that the relationship between head circumference and height is linear, that is, that the difference in mean head circumference between people who differ in height by one millimetre is the same no matter how tall the people are.

We assume that there is no interaction between the effects of height and sex, that is that the difference in head circumference between men and women is the same for tall people as it is for short people.
