Suggested answer to exercise: Eye colour and sex, 5

Question 5: How would you interpret the result P = 0.3?

Suggested answer

The P value is greater than 0.05, so is not significant by the conventional criterion. Such a relationship would occur in 30% of samples if the null hypothesis were true.

There is therefore no evidence of any relationship between observed eyecolour and sex.
