Pointless Gadgets

It is my birthday today and my daughter, who is under the charming illusion that I am now 22, gave me a 'Flash Light Stylus'. It is a fun gadget, and even without the light on, the clear plastic tip looks pretty cool. The main practical use for it derives from the fact that I use FitalyStamp, which is a keyboard which sticks on the graffiti area. The graffiti area does not illuminate on most devices, presumably because it is quite easy to do graffiti in the dark, but it is impossible to tap keys on a Fitaly keyboard if you can't see them clearly.

And while I am on the subject of gadgets with rather limited purpose, I should mention the JavoSkin. When I saw that Neil from PDA24/7 had been sent one to review, I knew I had to see it for myself and Neil kindly agreed to send it over. I could not really believe that it was as pointless as it seemed to be from the website, but seeing is believing and it is. I don't like writing negative reviews, but I cannot avoid saying that this offers no protection for the most delicate part of your T|E (the screen), it looks ugly, and feels a bit like a product from the London Rubber Company. Possibly, if your T|E spent its life on your desk or in your hand and never went into a pocket or briefcase, this might serve some purpose, and maybe if there was a choice of colours (e.g. a hint of electric blue would help), it would look OK, but I still cannot see a rational agent paying $32.95 plus shipping for it.
