This line graph shows ten year ischaemic heart disease risk against systolic blood pressure.
Two lines are shown: for IHD risk against the first SBP reading and for IHD risk against the mean of six SBP readings.
Both are smooth fitted lines, no points are shown. The lines are curves with increasing slopes as SBP increases.
The line for the mean of six starts below the line for the single reading and finishes above it, the slope always being greater.
