Alistair Edwards' Administration jobs
Since I have retired, I no longer have to do any administration (hooray!). However, here is a list if all the roles that I can remember undertaking at different times.
- Chair of the Board of Studies in Computer Science
- Secretary to the Board of Studies in Computer Science
- Chair of the Computer Science Teaching Committee
- Project Marking Co-ordinator
- Member of University Senate
- Member of the University Committee
- Seminar coordinator, HCI Research Group
- University Advisor on Disability
- Departmental Disabilities Representative
- Programme Leader for the MSc in Human-Centred Interactive Technologies
- Departmental Representative (and sometime Chair) on the Physical Sciences Ethics Committee (PSEC)
- Representative on the Departmental Research Committee
- This is linked to the above role, inasmuch as I was asked on to the Committee to have a particular role with regard to ethics in research.
- Editor of Tutorials Handbook
- Ah, remember the days when we actually got to know our first-year undergraduates by meeting them weekly - and we had the chance to enrich their education through exercises like these? The question 'Is it on the exam?' never arose - but the University does not like such frivolity; if it cannot be examined it cannot exist. Well, in those days, we had this handbook to guide us.
