Grammatical Chords
As the previous example shows, it is possible to choose a number of chords which can combine either 'harmoniously' or 'discordantly' depending on the chord pair.

In other words, these chords can act as grammatical categories. As with any such category, it is possible to write a number of rules which describe how they can combine.

R1 rewrites as Open D chord (no thirds) . F major
