Guidelines for Criticise-the-Experiment questions
A description of a fictitious experiment containing various faults is presented
(approx.. a page long). For an example see List of Experiments
.
The following is an example of the kind of questions which may be asked:
Present a critical appraisal of this report identifying any flaws in design, analysis,
presentation or interpretation.
This appraisal should:
- include discussion of information that is not given but may be critical to the
conclusions drawn;
- in cases where the conclusions are not justified by the findings, give alternative
explanations and, where possible, indicate how these alternative explanations could
be tested.
