Homogenization of Temperature Data: An Assessment

Kevin Cowtan

Overview

The retrospective calibration, or homogenization, or historical temperature records has recently been questioned in the public discourse on climate change. In this report I re-examine the underlying assumptions and reproduce most of the relevant results. More importantly, I document each step and provide all of the computer code, so that citizen scientists with the appropriate skills can reproduce and extend my results.
