Question 5. From the graph, approximately what would you estimate the median to be? Where would it appear along the horizontal axis?
The median is the value which divides the distribution into two equal parts. The middle of the distribution looks to be towards the upper end of the tallest bar, just below 165 cm, say 164. In fact, the median is 163.2 cm. It is difficult to judge accurately from the histogram and any answers within 2 cm of the correct one are good.
