Question 4: In what units are the coefficients in the regression equation?
The regression equation is:
quadriceps strength (N) = −908 + 7.20 × height (cm).
Quadriceps strength is in newtons, so the intercept must be too. The slope multiplied by height must be in newtons, so the slope must be in newtons per cm.
We could write the equation as
quadriceps strength (N) = −908 (N) + 7.20 (N/cm) × height (cm).
