Graph description: Question on a study of applications to medical school

There are three pairs of elements in this figure. Each element consists of a vertical plot. There is a central rectangle, with a horizontal line drawn across near the centre. Above and below the rectangle a vertical line extends terminating in a short horizontal. For each plot, these vertical lines are of similar length above and below the rectangle. There are a few small circles continuing the vertical lines in places.

The vertical axis is labeled "Score". The horizontal axis is labeled to indicate three groups: European (n=1493), ethnic minority group unidentified (n=398), and ethnic minority group identitified (n=166).

Each horizontal axis label refers to a pair of the vertical elements. The left one is shaded and the right one is unshaded in each case. A key indicates that shading means "Blinded" and unshaded means "Open".

The centres of the rectangles are all at the same level. The rectangles are similar except for the left one of the third pair, which is not so deep. The vertical lines are of similar length except for the left one of the third pair, which are shorter.
